Piano studio updates and information
About My Studio:
Piano lessons are taught here to students from age 7 to 70+; from beginning students to late intermediate levels.
I provide a positive, encouraging environment but students are expected to do their part and be prepared for each lesson.
Practicing the piano can be a more solitary endeavor. To balance this out, I create opportunities for students to have positive reinforcement from other piano students through special group lessons. Group lessons include games, activities and informal performances with other students.
About Myself:
I bring a strong background of child development and teaching to piano students. I graduated from Emporia State University with a BIS degree, focusing on piano pedagogy and was the first to earn the Certificate of Piano Pedagogy from ESU’s music department.
As part of my studies, I helped design and implement, along with Melinda Groves, the ESU Piano Quest program. I have been teaching piano for over 35 years.
As for my personal life, I am surrounded by wonderful men; my husband Gary and three sons, Christopher, Cory and Aaron. My sons brought into my life some amazing women and wives and now grandchildren! My hobbies and interests include nature, photography, computer skills, working with women in Uganda.
